People continue to love Star Wars, watching and re-watching each new installment. Of course, this is most fun when done in a group, which means a party; which means snacks.
If these are of the finger-food or Oriental variety, you really can’t go very wrong by purchasing these lightsaber-style chopsticks. Each lights up along its length with the press of a button and is bright enough to make an impression in daylight. With dimmer illumination, they’re simply spectacular.
The blunt ends are modeled on Star Wars lightsaber handles and take three LR41 batteries each, which are included in the price and should keep them going for quite a while. They can even be used as costume accessories, perhaps to help hold up a Leia-style bun.
If this is still not enough ambiance for you, you can pair them with some light-up shot glasses and a walking, talking R2D2 figurine. With the release of Episode IX[/outlink], you might want to start building up your collection.
At the end of the day, though, these inexpensive eating utensils are good for only a couple of parties or movie marathons. The batteries are basically covered only with a plastic sticker, so washing these chopsticks requires you to clean the tips without submerging the whole thing. Putting them in the dishwasher is most certainly out.
On the other hand, they perform exactly as advertised. They’re a little longer and heavier than normal chopsticks, and the plastic they’re made of seems pretty sturdy. This is fortunate, as it’s simply a given that before long someone is going to start mumbling “vroom, vroom” and swinging theirs around at the dinner table.
