This garbage disposal is aimed at people who do not plan to use it frequently or for large batches of scraps. If you live alone or with only a small number of people, this may be right for you – especially if you are working on a tight budget.
With only a 1/3 horsepower motor, this unit is much less powerful than the best garbage disposal on our list. That list is made up, predominantly, of units with 1/2 hp or 3/4 hp of power, with two exceptional 1 hp options for special situations.
The Waste King L-111, on the other hand, is clearly designed for the light user. A 1/3 hp motor is not capable of withstanding substantial loads nor running for extended periods of time.
That isn’t bad news, though, for people who only require a basic disposal. In fact, there is a pretty significant bright side: this machine is quite inexpensive.
Why would you pay double, triple, or even quintuple the price of this disposal if you don’t need to? If you’re only interested in flushing away vegetable peelings occasionally, this is a perfectly adequate machine.

Now that we’ve covered its motor, it’s worthwhile taking a moment to talk about the other features and qualities.
Its grind components are made from stainless steel, which edges this garbage disposal a little ahead of the similarly-priced InSinkErator Badger 1 and its galvanized steel parts. This disposal’s grinding unit will stand up much better to typical wear and tear and is much more resistant to rusting. Its glass-filled nylon grind chamber is also quite durable and should provide years of problem-free use.
A front-mounted reset button allows you to quickly and easily reset the entire system when necessary.
Sometimes, you may overburden the system and cause it to overheat (this is only a 1/3 hp motor, after all). Thankfully, the system has an automatic temperature switch that shuts it down to prevent damage. After allowing the motor time to cool off, you can simply press the easily accessible reset button to get things going again.
