There are pranks, and there are pranks. An example of a prank would be putting salt in the sugar bowl, or dressing up as a gorilla and jumping out at people. A prank, on the other hand, is designed to make someone lose his mind.
Also, what better time to do this than when that someone is perhaps a little stressed already and trying to get some urgent work done? Maybe where you can watch their insanity build, and someplace they’re used to your presence and won’t suspect that it’s all your fault?
True Evil Prank Device
If you have a specific kind of relationship with someone in your office, this diabolical device might be everything that you’ve been waiting for. Simply put, it’s a dongle that plugs into any USB port and generates random mouse movements, turns Caps Lock on and off, or even types creepy phrases that will make your “friend” think he’s being hacked. You can also set the frequency of these events – lower is probably better if you want to keep the prank running for a long time.
The best thing is, even if they know a little bit about computers, they’ll never suspect what’s happening (unless this is exactly the kind of thing they expect of you, in which case your days are probably numbered). The only way they’ll discover what’s really going on is by physically searching the back of their computer, and even then they might confuse it for a less mischievous gadget.
It works on all operating systems; it just pretends to be a keyboard and/or mouse, so no special drivers are needed and security software won’t interfere with it. Also, lest we go full evil, you’ll be glad to know that this dongle isn’t programmed to generate certain keystrokes like Ctrl+Alt+Delete, or click the mouse.
In other words, it will almost certainly drive your victim up the wall, but it doesn’t cause any actual damage beyond frustrating them to tears. Be sure to mention this fact to the human resources and IT departments when you’re caught (actually, just don’t admit anything, as there’s nothing to tie the dongle to any specific prankster).
To see just how insane you can drive someone with this gadget, here’s a video of someone pranking his brother with the little phantom keystroker (turn on sound):
