What if I told you that it’s perfectly possible to get a heart-pumping, de-stressing, muscle-building workout in only 15 minutes?
You can probably manage it if you push yourself on a rowing machine, but that isn’t exactly standard office decor or all that mobile.
This gadget, on the other hand, can literally fit into your pocket. The principle involved is that you work one muscle group against another, meaning that you generate your own resistance which the device only monitors. This type of exercise has a number of interesting advantages:
- It takes some willpower, but you can literally train to the limit of your body’s capabilities. With the “Green Giant” model offering resistances of up to 400 pounds, the sky is the limit.
- All the suggested moves are compound exercises, and it’s easy to get a full-body (or at least torso) workout using them. Opinions, as always, vary, but this is generally accepted to be the fastest route to muscle growth.
- Your body can clock out whenever the strain just gets too much. This means that you’ll probably be stiff the next day, but rarely sore, decreasing the chances of overtraining.
- Unlike when fighting gravity, each movement is completely natural, and the whole range of motion for each muscle is utilized optimally.
The main point here is the Isokinator’s mobility and ease of use. Although it’s suitable for both bulking and toning, it’s not intended as a replacement for traditional strength exercises (let alone cardio). If you already have a full weight rack, inclined bench, squat cage et cetera at home and never go out, pass this one by. For a quick yet effective whole-body workout wherever you are, though, there are few better options around.
Here’s a video example for toning biceps and triceps:
