Many people sincerely believe in the benefits of aromatherapy. One way of experiencing these effects is by burning incense – at home, in yoga and martial arts studios, and even in offices.

It’s claimed that this can, among other things, reduce stress, boost concentration, and improve sleep quality. We don’t generally offer medical advice on this site, but we can say for certain that burning incense makes a room smell nice. We’ll also venture the opinion that using a stylish holder improves the total experience immensely.

For Nose and Eye

When you’d like to scent the air, just light the bottom of an incense cone and place it over the spout. Smoke is then sucked down, forming a kind of waterfall that gently cascades through several basins before dissipating and flavoring the air. It also has a hole for holding stick incense.

This censer is made from an attractive glossy black ceramic and comes with 40 assorted incense cones. When in use, it’s absolutely hypnotic to watch; the perfect aid to relaxation and a conversation piece people of all ages will enjoy. You do have to use it in perfectly still and clean air, though: even breathing on it spoils the effect.

The Not so Good

There are a couple of negative points to this product: first, although the incense smells like it’s naturally produced (synthetic incense sometimes releases toxins), not everyone enjoys the aroma of the included cones. Unfortunately, although you could use it with any kind of hollow incense cones, not every brand will give the same waterfall effect: it actually needs to contain a fairly large amount of resin or it will tend to rise instead. This resin also congeals in the base, meaning that you’ll have to clean it from time to time.

In addition, at about 4 inches high, it looks cute enough, but can easily fade into the background of a busy room. If using it on a desk, on the other hand, you will want to be careful: the cone just sits on top and can easily be knocked down.

So, while we have to be honest about both the good and the bad aspects of this incense burner, we’re still in love with it. It works well and looks extremely elegant, especially when the smoke is flowing. It also makes the perfect gift: every time somebody you care about uses it, they’ll automatically think of you.
