Getting into a hot bath is sometimes really the highlight of the day. Feeling the warmth seep into your tired bones, bringing the glow back to your skin while the water carries away your cares, with the whole entire world somewhere away behind a locked door…
There’s only one thing wrong with this experience: it usually becomes boring very quickly. Relaxing the body is fine and well, but the mind needs something to occupy it.
A cup of tea might do the trick, but having something to read or being able to watch Youtube videos is far better. At the very least, some entertainment allows you to take your time and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of a good long soak.
This is precisely where this bath tray comes in. Made of bamboo, it extends to fit over the rim of almost any bathtub and has non-slip feet on each end to help it stay in place. Despite what you probably think, it’s pretty sturdy once in place – unless you’re exceptionally clumsy, you can trust your electronic devices to stay put. It does not, unfortunately, lock in place or hook over the bath’s side, so it is possible to dump the whole thing in the water with a careless knee.
It includes a slot that actually holds a wineglass by its foot, preventing spills, as well as an indentation for a mug or scented candle. Besides this, there are also grooves and folding support to keep both a phone and a tablet upright, as well as some extra space for whatever you prefer.
Unfortunately, there’s no attachment to keep a paper book open, nor does paper react well to being steamed. Much the same can probably be said for almost anything with a screen, though at least the tray’s material won’t be affected by humidity. It’s a hassle to store due to its size, though, so before you get one for yourself or as a gift, you may want to figure out if it will be used frequently or can at least be put somewhere out of the way the rest of the time.
