Most people who own pets want nothing but the best for them. Unfortunately, most of us also have to spend working hours elsewhere, and between traffic and rival animals, it’s not always possible to leave your pet to play outside.
Being locked indoors, alone, for all this time will drive anyone crazy, and certainly doesn’t help them stay fit. Fortunately for all involved, there’s now a little mechanical helper to fix this. There’s plenty to say about this gadget, but it’s easier just to show you the video:
Part of its charm is that its programming includes an AI component. We’re not sure, but this should imply that it makes intelligent decisions based on your pet’s behavior, and perhaps even learns from its responses over time (e.g. “don’t bother the mean kitty when he’s napping).
One of the concepts behind the design is that as many of your pet’s senses as possible should be engaged: sight, hearing, tactile sensations and even smell and taste. To accomplish the latter, this little robot actually dispenses treats in pellet form. As we all know, this is certainly the best way for a robot to win a doggo’s heart, and get a cat to at least tolerate it.
First, the bad news: this cute little robot doesn’t seem to be available yet.
Now, the good: it looks like the team has organized production channels, finalized the design and secured funding, and is ready to start selling them any minute now. When they do, we’ll be sure to tell you where to find one!
