It is no secret that farming tends to be difficult, exhausting, and uncertain. It’s also a fact that farmers have an odd sense of humor, like: “What’s the best kind of soil? Wet soil, BAHAHAHAHA!”
We owe it to these kind souls to cheer them up a little bit when we’re able. Even hobbyist gardeners can use some encouragement from time to time, as it’s not unknown for a flowerbed or lawn to go completely sideways for reasons that are either beyond our control or completely inscrutable. This is where this sign comes in.
Without proper irrigation and a bit of luck, the weeds are taking over and your plants seem to just give up. “Grow, Dammit!” is exactly the sentiment most of us will feel, but don’t always know how to express.
This basic model is about 20″ tall, although the creator will supply larger sizes if you ask nicely; she’ll even inscribe whatever text you want for a small fee. The finish is naturally rusted steel, which will fit nicely into most gardens and certainly most farm environments, although it shouldn’t be expected to last for decades. The material used is pretty thick, though, so it probably won’t wear out before the joke does.
Finally, let’s face it: many farmers resort to crazier kinds of voodoo, usually saying “at least it can’t hurt”. Just in case your corn plants can actually read, this certainly won’t harm things, and if it ever manages to brighten someone’s day, it’s already worth it.
